We are a cross faculty department linking teaching, research and PhD-training within the three faculties of Social Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
Our research and teaching cover business administration and economics including: organization and strategy, accounting, auditing, international business and marketing, creativity and innovation, entrepreneurship and business models, operations management, economics, and health economics.
Problem Based Learning (PBL) combined with project organized group work is the basic teaching and learning model for all our study programs. In both teaching and research we combine theory and practice and emphasize collaboration with companies and public sector organizations.
A new major European Marie Curie project started with a kick-off seminar at the University of Stavanger last month. Ina Drejer and Christian R. Østergaard participate in the project with the purpose of training young innovation researchers for careers contributing to regional development.
Et stort tillykke fra instituttet til Kim Malmbak Møller, som d. 17. november 2016 forsvarede sin ph.d.-afhandling ”Erkendelse og organisatorisk praksis – at undre sig over mennesket".
The 14th Globelics Conference which took place in October 2016 in Bandung, Indonesia, led to a meeting between Globelics and representatives from the office of the Indonesian President and several ministries and agencies. The Indonesian Government has requested future cooperation.
